More details can be found within this recent development update blog. A brand-new content update will also coincide with the game's console launch, and this is planned to add a new hard mode, new enemies for each chapter, and a whole slew of fixes and improvements. But after thinking for about 45 minutes, i was able to come out to this.SouthPAW Games has announced that its spooky 2D roguelike Skul: The Hero Slayer is releasing on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One on October 21.

This review is quite short due to me trying to remember why i rated this game a 10. It just came out on consoles and it's really worth trying. This game is really, really cool and hard.

Even after trying of so many builds, I still couldn't beat the last boss. The last few hours of the game gets really, really hard. And once i reached the fourth boss, i got more excited to see what would happen next and the enemies types. Once i played the game for about 15 hours in total, i got quite bored due to the combat system being quite repetitive. And the enemies gets harder and harder, while the 2d combat system is quite dull for me. The more you progress, the bosses, enemies and map progressively gets more HD and cooler. And once you reach the last boss, the music gets so intense, especially when you're gonna die. And once a boss fight, the music progressively gets better the lower health the boss have which makes it amazing. Music: The music in this game reminds me of undertale type of music and undertale's music is wonderful. The pixel art graphics is so nice and clean. And the more you progress, you'll get a cutscene of what's happening and there's a story to it. It takes about 20-50 hours to complete the game depending on luck and skills (you mostly need luck)
SKUL THE HERO SLAYER SWITCH REVIEW UPGRADE
There are also a skill tree which you can upgrade by using purple gems you can get in your run. These NPCs are located in the castle where you "live" and they will give you artifact and buffs for your next runs. There are NPCs that will help you in the game. There are a lot of builds you can make which makes the game more fun to explore, which type of build you can go with different types of skulls.ĭying and restarting over and over again: It's a roguelike and you'll die a lot. There is a limit to how much you can equip. There are also artifacts which gives you buff. The head and skull system is amazing, there are 100 skulls, so a few hundred skills in the game. Once you start your adventure to capture the demon king, you'll enter a portal and once you enter, you'll have to kill a bunch of enemies and proceeding to the next portal, like any other rogue lite game. And the graphics and details in the game is straight up amazing. With the first boss you'll face is a tree type of boss. While doing so, you'll be faced with different enemies and bosses. And your goal is to capture the demon king back. Story: Humans and Monsters is at war and the demon king was captured, you play as a skeleton you can change skulls, giving different powers and skills. This was one of my few first roguelike games that i've finished and finishing this game took a lot of time and effort but once i saw the end title screen, i felt like all the time and effort was worth it.
